Our Team
Director- Kendra Votava
Periwinkle’s Director, Kendra Votava, has over 30 years of experience working in early childhood education. During her career she’s been an assistant preschool teacher, lead toddler teacher, behavior specialist, adult instructor, early education special educator, and Executive Director. Kendra has a Master’s degree in Special Education, and her passion is championing the rights and needs of young children so that everyone has the ability to be included in preschool. Kendra was instrumental in reviving LBCC’s vision of Periwinkle, and heralded the first new preschoolers in February 2024 with the Grand Opening of the site. She looks forward to many more years of loving on kiddos.
Site Coordinator- Dana Westbrook
Dana started with Periwinkle in February 2025. She originally hails from Northern California in the East Bay Area. She attended college at CSU Chico where she earned her BA in Child Development and MA in Education, and worked at the Child Development Lab on campus. Then she moved to Eugene, OR where she worked at U of O in the Moss Street Children's Center for a year, and then back to Sacramento for about 7 more years. During her time in Sacramento she worked at the Associated Students Children's Center at CSU Sacramento. In this role she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience coaching and mentoring ECE professionals, and designing and leading training. In 2022, she was drawn back to Oregon, and accepted a position with the Family Resource Center at Oregon State University. During her career, she has had an infant/toddler focus, but has also worked with preschoolers, and she became a certified trainer by the Program for Infant and Toddler Care (PITC). We are so excited that Dana has joined our team!
